Sumario:The aim of this study is to analyze the role of Open Science in the COVID-19 pandemic to understand the use that this model exhibits in the context of the health emergency. The methodological design included the selection and analysis of 43 Open Science initiatives that seek to provide solutions to face the pandemic. The results show that the Open Science model has been used to 1. educate and inform the society, 2. provide resources to the scientific community to conduct research and 3. supply medical equipment, personal protection equipment and vaccines. Likewise, it is found that the model offers benefits for the scientific community and society, however, there are certain aspects that, in the health crisis, are revealed as areas of opportunity. In conclusion, the development of Open Science initiatives during the SARS-CoV-2 virus pandemic is instructive because its implementation allows us to witness the possibilities it provides to facilitate the flow of information, develop scientific knowledge, and seek solutions in difficult times for humanity
