Sumario:The present research examined the transdisciplinary process within librarianship and its reconstructions and implications for the librarian. To achieve these objectives, the hermeneutic method and the documentary research method were used. The texts were analyzed and interpreted to argue the proposals presented in this research. First of all, a brief review was made about the scientific development during different periods up to transdisciplinarity. It was determined that librarianship has two modes in which transdisciplinarity occurs. The first is through professional practice and the second is through the reconstruction of his own theoretical body where librarians can rethink their principles and adapt to changes in the environment. On the other hand, how the librarian can be a transdisciplinary professional was identified, therefore librarianship reconfigures himself to have a much more integral formation in society and as an individual. It is concluded that the transdisciplinarity implemented in librarianship and the work of its professionals develops over time.
