Sumario:Digital information retrieval through artificial intelligence is currently one of the most promising applications for archives that collect large volumes of digital content. Pioneering experiences in this field have begun to be developed in digital sound archives. This research had a qualitative approach in that an analysis of recent scientific literature was carried out. In addition, five sound archives in the Americas, Asia and Europe were identified as pioneers in the use of intelligent systems for the automation of some of the documentary processes involved in sound preservation, and an interview was conducted. With this, it was possible to observe some of the first applications in this area. The objective of this work is to expose experiences of the use of artificial intelligence in digital sound archives, in order to show how its use begins to spread through the documentary processes that intervene in the life cycle through which digital objects transit.
