Sumario:The objective of this article is to examine the metric properties of an instrument to evaluate self-perceived informational competence (CIA) by university students and, additionally, it seeks to expose the relationship of the latent variables that integrate the CIA from a model of structural equations (SEM). The research was approached from a quantitative methodology of instrumental design cut. The total sample was 2,189 university students from public and private centers in the state of Sonora, Mexico. The main results of the study indicate that there is a pertinent and consistent instrument. The various statistical tests and analyzes made it possible to identify and evaluate the suitability of the latent and observed variables that make up the proposed model.
