Sumario:In the second half of the 19th century, Colombian bookstores played a significant role in the book market, first dedicated to sales activities and later as publishing agents. This text recounts the work of the Colombian Bookstore as a publishing agent, between 1886 and 1900, in Bogotá. Specifically, it focuses on the edited titles, their different editions and the editorial work, the latter seen through the paratexts. A second part is dedicated to the authors, the themes they worked on and their links to political parties. In this way, we try to understand how the practices, the contents and the agents impacted the political and economic context, but also how they were impacted by it.
