The methodology used was the bibliographichemerographic research, having as main results that in Mexico during the period of study there was a series of biblioclastic practices of various kinds, such as physical destruction, theft, mutilation, forgetfulness and devaluation, which together represented an affectation not only to the book and documents, but to the ecosystem that surrounds them. In this sense, it was possible to determine that the main type of biblioclastia occurred in Mexico during the twentieth century was biblioclastia due to negligence, as well as the consideration of biblioclastia beyond the mere physical destruction of the book for political, ideological and religious reasons.
