Differences in microclimatic conditions (maximum and minimum temperature, thermal amplitude and vapor pressure deficit) were found to exist between Coffee-Chalahuite and Café-Nacaxtle production systems. The analysis at different time scales allows to identify lapses of adverse microclimatic conditions for the development of coffee cultivation which, according to the daytime values of the vapor pressure deficit, is subjected to periods of water deficit.

Uno de los propósitos alcanzados por el Observatorio de la Cafeticultura Veracruzana (OBSERVA-CAFÉ) es el monitoreo y la generación de información de las condiciones agroclimáticas de sistemas de producción de café. El objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar las condiciones microclimáticas a diferentes escalas temporales en dos sistemas productivos. Se encontró que existen diferencias en las condiciones microclimáticas (temperatura máxima y mínima, amplitud térmica y déficit de presión de vapor) entre sistemas de producción de Café-Chalahuite y Café-Nacaxtle. El análisis a distintas escalas temporales permite identificar lapsos de condiciones microclimáticas adversas para el desarrollo del cultivo de café que, de acuerdo a los valores diurnos del déficit de presión de vapor, se ve sometido a periodos de déficit hídrico.
