description Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) makes up less than 1% of all gastrointestinal tumors, but it is the most common mesenchymal tumor of the digestive system. It is commonly found in the stomach and the small intestine and rarely seen in the colon and the esophagus. Additionally, sigmoid GIST is quite rare since colorectal GIST often occurs in the rectum. A total of 21 patients (including the study case) were looked at for this study, of which 14 (66.6%) were males and seven (33.3%) were females. We focused on GIST and conducted an online search and systematic analysis of all case presentations.
