Sumario:An 82-year-old woman fell down the stairs and was brought to our hospital. When she came to our hospital, she had a left acute epidural hematoma, brain contusion, and splenic injury. During plain computed tomography (CT) imaging, hypotension and deteriorated level of consciousness was observed, and simultaneous head and abdominal surgery was performed to control intracranial hematoma growth and hemorrhagic shock. The head was positioned in right rotation and the trunk in supine position, and craniotomy and splenectomy were performed simultaneously. Simultaneous head and abdominal surgery is a very effective treatment strategy for multiple trauma because it does not require repositioning of the patient.
