description The range and use of telehealth technologies in the prenatal and postpartum periods have exploded since the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the previous barriers to telehealth have been temporarily removed, which allows for the evaluation of new flexible care models and research on telehealth applications to address pressing clinical outcomes. In this column, I describe the scope of telehealth technologies in the prenatal and postpartum periods, the policy changes that have contributed to this growth, and research findings and recommendations from professional organizations that support the integration of telehealth into maternity care.
