description Postoperative ischaemia of the lingula is a complication of left upper lobe trisegmentectomy, usually attributed to a twist of the remaining lingula. It can also be related to other factors such as venous interruption. We report 3 cases of reoperation after lingula-sparing left upper lobectomy for suspected ischaemia. None were related to torsion. Accidental injury of the lingular venous drainage or abnormal venous pattern can be the leading cause of these ischaemia.
