description | Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic forced higher education institutions to make changes in the way medicine is taught. Among these strategies emerged the Boot camps, intensive training courses based on the development of practical skills, in order to improve clinical skills in simulated environments or in hospital practice sites. The objective of the study was to evaluate the academic quality of the bootcamps that were carried out by undergraduate medical students from La Sabana University during the Covid-19 pandemic. Methods: A descriptive study was developed on the perception of undergraduate Medicine students about the quality of the inter-monthly Boot camps developed by medical students from 6 to 11 semester of the University of La Sabana, in 12 public health centers. as private, to which the simulated hospital of said university was added as a practice center using the ROTA-Q questionnaire. Results: There was a sample of 221 medical students. A very favorable perception of the students was identified regarding the items to be evaluated, reaching a 96.4% maximum and minimum favorable perception of 87.7%. 94.5% of the students considered that the Bootcamp they attended contributed to the development of clinical competencies within their learning. Conclusion: The use of Boot camps as a learning method in the field of medicine is innovative and very useful in times of confinement such as the COVID-19 pandemic, medical students have a very favorable perception about the teaching process and the results achieved with this. |
