Overwintering Culex torrentium in abandoned animal burrows as a reservoir for arboviruses in Central Europe

Culex pipiens s.s./Culex torrentium belong to the most widespread mosquito taxa in Europe and are the main vectors of Sindbis, West Nile and Usutu virus.
