Sumario:This study investigates the water flow characteristics on a solid surface with nanoscale compared to a normal solid surface. The experiment uses a high-speed video system and Fiber-optic Laser Doppler Velocimetry to measure the flow condition of the droplet and velocity distribution profile in the inclined surface flow of the open channel, respectively. The results showed that the movement speed of water droplets on the nanoscale surface was about 2 times faster than on the normal surface. The mean error of each velocity profile was 0.6%. The results reveal that the velocity profile is not significantly influenced by whether the flume bottom is coated with nanoscale material or not in the inclined surface flow of the open channel.
