Sumario:Aimed at the preparation of bimetallic composites by using a liquid–liquid compound casting method with a sound interface, this study focused on the interface evolution with an increase in the pouring time interval. The results revealed that the melt mixing occurred when the pouring interval was 3 s. The transition zone appeared at the interface when the pouring interval was 10 s, and a good metallurgical bond was obtained. When the pouring interval was 20 s, a discontinuous oxide layer appeared at the interface. The oxide layer gap formed a channel for the transport of the SiC particles.
