Sumario:Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is an opportunistic virus that can cause life-threatening neurological diseases in immunocompromised individuals, particularly those with HIV/AIDS. In this case report, a patient presenting with left gait lateralization was found to have a ring-enhancing cerebral mass lesion that was attributed to CMV. To date, only eight similar cases have been documented. When evaluating patients with HIV/AIDS who have cerebral mass lesions, clinicians should keep CMV as a possible cause because prompt antiviral therapy may improve clinical outcomes.
