The genome sequence of a bird blowfly, Protocalliphora azurea (Fallén,1817)

We present a genome assembly from an individual male Protocalliphora azurea (a bird blowfly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Calliphoridae). The genome sequence is 874 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into seven chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the assembled X and Y sex chro...

Sumario:We present a genome assembly from an individual male Protocalliphora azurea (a bird blowfly; Arthropoda; Insecta; Diptera; Calliphoridae). The genome sequence is 874 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into seven chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the assembled X and Y sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 15.7 kilobases in length. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 11,936 protein coding genes.
