El fundamento simbólico de la violencia de género en el ámbito laboral sanitario

We want to congratulate Muñoz Varela et al. for his research on the social perception of workplace sexual harassment in the health field published in his journal , since it highlights a subject that has been scarcely investigated. One of the conclusions of the study is to point out the passivity of the organizational structure towards behaviors that favor sexual harassment, making it difficult for them to be visible and denounced. Of particular interest is the relationship between male-led positions of power and organizational tolerance towards sexual harassment directed at female health professionals. It is this concealment and inaction in the face of gender violence that leads us to inquire about the mechanisms that legitimize it and that escape, in most cases, the control of health professionals, whether they unknowingly exercise domination, or suffer from it.
