Sumario:The case presented is of a male patient in his 20s who initially underwent an appendectomy for suspected acute appendicitis. However, histopathological examination revealed the unexpected diagnosis of a neuroendocrine carcinoid tumor of the appendix. A subsequent right hemicolectomy was performed for complete tumor removal.
