Self-ligating mechanisms have been shown to be more effective and less time-consuming in orthodontic treatment than traditional appliances due to their enhanced frictional properties. Crucial to the success of the multi-band/bracket method is the transmission of forces and moments from the bracket to the archwire. Advances in bracket design and ligation techniques are constantly being made to better distribute loads and increase the efficiency of leveling.
