description Phenotypic heterogeneity has been a complex phenomenon lately, fetching attention in tumour pathology. Myofibroblastic differentiation is one such example and, besides, functional heterogeneity contributes to the biological behaviour of the tumours. Myofibroma is a distinctive neoplasm of myofibroblasts with a low incidence rate in the oral cavity. A case of myofibroma in mandibular alveolus in an adult patient is reported here for its rarity and diagnostic dilemma.
