It is more common in patients with a history of Graves’ disease; however, its incidence remains as low as 0.57-0.76 cases per 100,000 per year. In the setting of newly diagnosed COVID-19 with subsequent development of thyroid storm, the presentation is increasingly rare with only two reported cases in the current literature.
