Sumario: | Professor Liv Hatle died in June 2023. In Trondheim, Norway, in the mid-1970s she was the first cardiologist to be given access to a PEDOF Doppler ultrasound system for clinical examinations, which she used to investigate cardiovascular haemodynamics non-invasively. She went on to establish methods for estimating valve gradients, pulmonary arterial pressure, and left ventricular diastolic function, that are still used today in millions of patients worldwide. |
