Evaluating clinical outcomes and prognosis in patients with cirrhosis and portal hypertension: a retrospective observational cohort study

OBJECTIVE: Cirrhosis describes the end-stage of chronic liver disease. Irreversible changes in the liver cause portal hypertension, which can progress to serious complications and death.
