Sumario: | Centrifuge experiments have been carried out with cell-free, active filtrates of vaccinia virus. The experiments have shown that the virus can be concentrated by this method, even in filtrates which have been subjected to prolonged preliminary centrifugation to throw down any inert particles which may have been present in the original filtrate. This fact, together with the knowledge that the virus can be almost completely held back by the Berkefeld N filter, as reported previously (5) indicates that the virus may be of considerable size. |
