Sumario: | 1. The hemorrhages, foci of necrosis, and anemic infarcts met with in the various organs in virus hog cholera, result primarily from the vascular lesions described in a previous paper of this series. Although they are not dependent on the presence of secondarily invading bacteria, their severity is influenced by these organisms. 2. The lesions in the lymph nodes, spleen, kidneys, and central nervous system seem to be of special diagnostic value in questionable cases of hog cholera. The presence of an encephalitis alone does not justify the diagnosis of hog cholera because in the central nervous system of swine similar inflammatory lesions occur in other diseases. |
