Sumario: | A viscometer is described, particularly adapted to the measurement of colloidal solutions and physiological liquids (serum, blood), which, although doing away with the capillary tube (which is difficult to handle and to clean), requires less than 1 cc. of liquid. The readings are rapid, from 30 seconds to 1 minute. The temperature is easily controlled and varied. The range is considerable and may be changed easily. The sensitivity is such that the viscosity of air can be measured to the 7th decimal, without any difficulty. Its main advantage is that it makes possible the observation of the changes occurring in the viscosity of a liquid in function of time and temperature. It may be used as a recording viscometer by simply placing a recording photographic box before the mirror. |
