Oldest record of Trimeniaceae from the Early Cretaceous of northern Japan

BACKGROUND: Molecular phylogenetic analyses have identified Trimeniaceae, a monotypic family distributed only in Oceania, as among the earliest diverging families of extant angiosperms.
