| description | Two novel rhabdoviruses were isolated from birds during surveillance for arboviral encephalitis in the northeastern United States. The second, designated Rhode Island virus, is unclassified antigenically, but its ultrastructure and size are more similar to those of some of the plant rhabdoviruses.
