Sumario: | SUMMARY: Rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a lethal event associated with a high mortality rate. In addition, the risk is compounded if the patient is on anticoagulants. Due to the recent advance in anaesthetic, operative and postoperative care, the patient if recovers from their emergency repair has a good long term survival. We describe the anaesthetic management of an elderly male on anticoagulant therapy presenting with ruptured AAA. |
