Sumario:The title compound, [Cd(C(6)H(4)NO(3))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], was obtained by the reaction of cadmium chloride with 5-hydroxynicotinic acid. The Cd(II) atom is located on an inversion centre and is coordinated by two N atoms from two 5-hydroxynicotinic acid ligands and four water molecules in a distorted octahedral geometry. The structure is stabilized by intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
