The title compound, C(16)H(22)O(3), is a useful intermediate in the synthesis of poly(amidoamine) dendrimers. The cyclohexane ring adopts a chair conformation. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimers by pairs of O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
