N′-[4-(Dimethylamino)benzylidene]-3-hydroxybenzohydrazide

The title compound, C(16)H(17)N(3)O(2), was synthesized by the reaction of 4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde with 3-hydroxybenzoic acid hydrazide in methanol. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings in the molecule is 9.2 (2)°. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked through intermol...

Sumario:The title compound, C(16)H(17)N(3)O(2), was synthesized by the reaction of 4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde with 3-hydroxybenzoic acid hydrazide in methanol. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings in the molecule is 9.2 (2)°. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked through intermolecular O—H⋯O, O—H⋯N and N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane.
