description In the cation of the title compound, [AuCl(2)(C(24)H(16)N(2))][AuCl(4)], the Au(III) atom is four-coordinated in a distorted square-planar configuration by two N atoms from a 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline ligand and two terminal Cl atoms.
