N′-(4-Hydroxybenzylidene)-4-methoxybenzohydrazide

The title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)O(3), was prepared by the reaction of 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 4-methoxybenzohydrazide in methanol. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 6.8 (1)°. The methoxy group is disordered over two orientations with occupancies of ca 0.63 and 0.37. In the m...

Sumario:The title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)O(3), was prepared by the reaction of 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde and 4-methoxybenzohydrazide in methanol. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 6.8 (1)°. The methoxy group is disordered over two orientations with occupancies of ca 0.63 and 0.37. In the major disorder component, the methoxy group is coplanar with the attached ring. In the crystal structure, the molecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by intermolecular O—H⋯O and N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
