description The mol­ecule of the title compound, [Zn(C(28)H(30)N(2)O(2))(CH(3)COCH(3))], lies across a mirror plane with the Zn(II) ion and the acetone mol­ecule on the mirror plane. The Zn(II) ion is in a five-coordinate distorted square-pyramidal N(2)O(3) environment, with the two imine N and two phenolic O atoms of the tetra­dentate Schiff base dianion in the basal plane and the acetone mol­ecule in the apical position. The central benzene ring makes a dihedral angle of 16.5 (2)° with the two outer phenolate rings. In the crystal structure, the mol­ecules are arranged into anti­parallel columns along the a axis.
