Sumario: | Crystals of the title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)S(2), were obtained from a condensation reaction of benzyl dithiocarbazate and benzaldehyde. The molecule assumes an E configuration about the N=C double bond. The phenyl ring of the thioester group is nearly perpendicular to the dithiocarbazate plane, with a dihedral angle of 84.60 (5)°. In the crystal structure, intermolecular N—H⋯S hydrogen bonding links adjacent molecules to form a centrosymmetric supramolecular dimer. |
