μ-Nitrilotriacetato-tris(1,10-phenanthroline)dizinc(II) nitrate hexahydrate
The nitrilotriacetate trianion in the title compound, [Zn(2)(C(6)H(6)NO(6))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(3)]NO(3)·6H(2)O, is engaged in N,O,O′,O"-chelation to the phenanthroline-chelated Zn(II) unit, giving a distorted octahedral geometry for the metal atom. One of the three O atoms of the trianion that is...

Sumario: | The nitrilotriacetate trianion in the title compound, [Zn(2)(C(6)H(6)NO(6))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(3)]NO(3)·6H(2)O, is engaged in N,O,O′,O"-chelation to the phenanthroline-chelated Zn(II) unit, giving a distorted octahedral geometry for the metal atom. One of the three O atoms of the trianion that is engaged in chelation also binds to the bis(phenanthroline)-chelated Zn(II) unit, whose five-coordinate geometry is distorted owing to a long Zn⋯O interaction [2.401 (2) Å]. The dinuclear cations, nitrate anions and uncoordinated water molecules are linked into a three-dimensional network via O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds between water molecules and carboxylate O atoms. |
