In the title salt, C(7)H(8)N(3) (+)·HSO(4) (−), the benzimdazole ring system is planar [mean deviation 0.0086 (1) Å]. In the crystal, N—H⋯O and O—H⋯O hydrogen-bond interactions give rise to a layer motif.
