N-(2-Ferrocenylethylidene)-4-(trifluoromethyl)aniline

The title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(13)H(9)F(3)N)], was prepared by a condensation reaction from ferrocenylcarbaldehyde and 4-(trifluoromethyl)aniline. The cyclopentadienyl (Cp) rings are coplanar [dihedral angle = 1.4 (3)°] and the imine function is situated in the same plane. The aromatic subs...

Sumario:The title compound, [Fe(C(5)H(5))(C(13)H(9)F(3)N)], was prepared by a condensation reaction from ferrocenylcarbaldehyde and 4-(trifluoromethyl)aniline. The cyclopentadienyl (Cp) rings are coplanar [dihedral angle = 1.4 (3)°] and the imine function is situated in the same plane. The aromatic substituent is bent out of the plane of the Cp ring to which the imine group is attached by 44.5 (4)°. The F atoms of the trifluoromethyl substituent are disordered [occupancies 0.52 (2)/0.48 (2)].
