The title compound, C(7)H(9)N(3)O, crystallizes with two independent molecules per asymmetric unit. The structure is stabilized by four distinct intermolecular N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Four intramolecular interactions of the N—H⋯N and C—H⋯O types are also observed.
