description | The asymmetric unit of the title Mn(II) coordination polymer, {[Mn(2)(C(8)H(6)O(8))(H(2)O)(3)]·H(2)O}(n), contains two crystallographically independent Mn(II) cations, two half butane-1,2,3,4-tetracarboxylato anions, each lying on a centre of inversion, and four water molecules. The Mn(II) cation has a distorted octahedral coordination environment. One Mn centre is coordinated by four carboxylate O atoms from two different anions and two water O atoms. The other Mn centre is coordinated by five carboxylate O atoms from four different anions and one water O atom. One water molecule does not coordinate to a Mn centre. The crystal packing is stabilized by several O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. |
