description The asymmetric unit of the title Mn(II) coordination polymer, {[Mn(2)(C(8)H(6)O(8))(H(2)O)(3)]·H(2)O}(n), contains two crystallographic­ally independent Mn(II) cations, two half butane-1,2,3,4-tetra­carboxyl­ato anions, each lying on a centre of inversion, and four water mol­ecules. The Mn(II) cation has a distorted octa­hedral coordination environment. One Mn centre is coordinated by four carboxyl­ate O atoms from two different anions and two water O atoms. The other Mn centre is coordinated by five carboxyl­ate O atoms from four different anions and one water O atom. One water mol­ecule does not coordinate to a Mn centre. The crystal packing is stabilized by several O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework.
