The molecule of the title compound, C(9)H(5)Cl(2)NO, is essentially planar [give maximum or r.m.s. deviation] and the hydroxy group acts as a hydrogen-bond donor to the N atom of a symmetry-related molecule, generating a hydrogen-bonded dimer,which lies on a twofold rotation axis.
