description | The asymmetric unit of the title mononuclear Ni(II) compound, [Ni(NCS)(2)(C(8)H(12)N(2))(2)], contains two independent half-molecules, the Ni atoms of which lie on crystallographic inversion centres. Each Ni(II) ion is chelated by two N atoms from two N-phenylethane-1,2-diamine ligands and is also coordinated by two N atoms from two thiocyanate ligands, giving a distorted octahedral geometry. In the crystal, molecules are linked into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100) by N—H⋯S interactions. |
