Aqua(9,10-dioxoanthracene-1,5-disulfonato-κO (1))bis(1,10-phenanthroline-κ(2) N,N′)nickel(II)

In the mononuclear title complex, [Ni(C(14)H(6)O(8)S(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Ni(II) atom is in a distorted octahedral coordination formed by four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and by two O atoms, one from a 9,10-dioxoanthracene-1,5-disulfonate ligand and the othe...

Sumario:In the mononuclear title complex, [Ni(C(14)H(6)O(8)S(2))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Ni(II) atom is in a distorted octahedral coordination formed by four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and by two O atoms, one from a 9,10-dioxoanthracene-1,5-disulfonate ligand and the other from a water molecule. An intramolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, intermolecular O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mononuclear complexes into chains extending parallel to [010]. Furthermore, π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distance = 3.5696 (6) Å] stabilize the crystal structuure.
