3-[(4-Fluorophenyl)sulfonyl]-5-iodo-2-methyl-1-benzofuran

In the title compound, C(15)H(10)FIO(3)S, the 4-fluorophenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 72.27 (6)° with the mean plane of the benzofuran fragment [mean deviation of 0.014 (2) Å from the plane defined by the nine constituent atoms]. In the crystal, pairs of weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bo...

Sumario:In the title compound, C(15)H(10)FIO(3)S, the 4-fluorophenyl ring makes a dihedral angle of 72.27 (6)° with the mean plane of the benzofuran fragment [mean deviation of 0.014 (2) Å from the plane defined by the nine constituent atoms]. In the crystal, pairs of weak intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into centrosymmetric dimers, which are further linked via an aromatic π–π interactions between the iodobenzene rings of neighbouring molecules [centroid–centroid distance = 3.569 (3) Å].
