Sumario: | The title complex, [Nd(2)(C(8)H(7)O(3))(6)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·H(2)O, contains two Nd atoms, six 4-hydroxyphenylacetate (hpaa) anions, two 4,4′-bipyridine molecules (bipy) and two water molecules; an additional water molecule of solvation is also present in the crystal structure. Each of the Nd(III) ions is nine-coordinated by seven O atoms from four hpaa ligands, an N atom from a bipy ligand and an O atom from a water molecule in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The hpaa ligands are coordinated to the Nd(III) ions in the bridging and bridging tridentate modes. Extensive O—H⋯O, O—H⋯N and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonding stabilizes the crystal structure. |
