Sumario:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Sm(2)(C(10)H(11)O(4))(6)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)], the Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by seven O atoms of five 2-(3,4-dimeth­oxy­phen­yl)acetate (DMPA) ligands and two N atoms of one bis-chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand, forming a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic environment. The DMPA ligands coordinate in bis-chelate, bridging and bridging tridentate modes. An intra­molecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. Inter­molecular C—H⋯O inter­actions are also present in the crystal.
