The central Cd(II) ion is in a slightly distorted octa­hedral geometry, coordinated by six O atoms from two carboxyl­ate groups and two water O atoms. An intra­molecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, inter­molecular hydrogen bonds between carboxyl­ate O atoms and coordinated water mol­ecules in adjacent chains lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network structure. The compound is isotypic with the Zn analog.
