Sumario:In the structure of the title compound, [RuCl(2)(C(16)H(14)N(2)O)(C(18)H(15)P)]·CH(3)OH, he Ru(II) ion shows a slightly distorted octahedral coordination by two N atoms and one O atom from the 2-methyl-8-(pyridin-2-ylmeth­oxy)quinoline acting as an N,O,N′-tridentate ligand, two Cl atoms, and one P atom from a PPh(3) ligand. The two Cl atoms adopt a cis arrangement with the PPh(3) ligand trans to one Cl atom. The N,O,N′-tridentate ligand occupies a mer position in the coordination sphere.
